There are 30 days for all political parties to conduct election campaigning to seek the voting from their supporters prior to the July 27 national election, starting from June 26 to July 25, the National Election Committee (NEC) announced Tuesday.
Running the election campaign will be made from June 25 to July 26 between 6 am to 10 pm, and all political parties will not be allowed to conduct their campaign one day before and after the Election Day.
According to the campaigning procedure, state-owned buildings will be allowed to use as campaigning places for their all political parties’ activities. Government officials will also not be permitted to conduct campaign during their working hours.
“The NEC has its defined jurisdiction, and political parties should allocate time clearly, as with Ho Vann’s case, it is not NEC responsibility’s case†Tep Nytha, NEC secretary general was quoted by the Mekong Times.
The NEC has established rules in areas such as private radio and television stations selling broadcasting hours campaign to political parties during the election campaign: question and answer programs given to politicians by the media and NGOs and the printing of political parties’ election campaign leaflets and bulletins, reported The Mekong Times.
“Campaign-related disputes will be finally decided by the Constitutional Council, unlike in the past, when it was ultimately decided by the NEC,†Em Sophat, meeting chairman, was quoted from the Cambodia Daily.
